Challenges

Crain Construction broke ground on this project in June 2021, a point of time when supply issues were at their peak. High-end finishes were sourced from around the world, including tile and furnishings from Italy, specialty glass from Spain, and lighting from France. The delivery date for the specified electrical switchgear experienced delay after delay and ultimately, would not make it to the project in time.

Solutions

Given supply chain challenges, countless hours were spent planning logistics and contingency plans. To prevent delays, Crain Construction secured dedicated shipping containers, booked multiple ship dates at multiple ports, and expedited ground delivery on dedicated trucks to the job site for installation, sometimes within hours of arrival.

The Crain team worked closely with electrical trade partners, suppliers, and the design team to integrate an alternative design for the electrical switchgear. Quickly adapting the design and incorporating the alternative ensured the project stayed on schedule.

The project resulted in highly satisfied clients, with their positive experience leading them to express interest in having Crain Construction build another planned dealership in Florida. Prancing Horse of Nashville has become a destination in its own right, attracting attention from both interstate travelers and car enthusiasts.
