Getting Tencarva Off to a Good Start with Ground Stabilization and a Strong Foundation

We stabilized the ground and built a strong foundation for the Tencarva Machinery Company. The structure houses the branch office, Southern Sales Division, office, training, warehouse, and service space for the distributor of pumps, liquid process and custom-designed systems for industrial and municipal customers.

Project highlights

  • Substantial ground reinforcement and soil stabilization was required.
  • 200 rammed aggregated piers installed on the two-acre redevelopment site.
  • Huge test pit built to enable Tencarva to test horizontal, vertical and submersible pumps up to 300 horsepower at 460 volts and 150 horsepower at 230 volts.
  • Service area includes two 5-ton overhead cranes, multiple column-mounted jib cranes for lifting and assuring worker safety, and a filtered “clean room” for bearing frame assembly.
  • The project was awarded an Excellence in Construction from ABC Tennessee.
